WASHINGTON – Police believe a Hybla Valley bank robbery Friday afternoon is related to previous robberies at the same bank connected to what the FBI has dubbed the “Beacon Hill Bandit.”
About 12:30 p.m. Friday, a man entered the TD Bank, 6615 Richmond Highway, and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
The robber was described as a man with a medium build who was wearing a gray shirt and dark pants.
The Beacon Hill Bandit is believed to have robbed the same bank, which is across from the Beacon Hill Shopping Center, five other times. Each time he has demanded money, either verbally or through a note, and provided a bag to the teller. During three of the robberies, the robber implied he had a weapon.
Following a Sept. 9 robbery, police described the bandit as a 6-foot tall black man with a medium build. He was wearing a yellow work vest and pants.
