Brian Wilson, Jeff Beck, Growlers to perform

WASHINGTON – This weekend’s concert highlights include some big names and even a free concert. Read on for the best bets.

Friday

  • The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala are scheduled to perform at Merriweather Post Pavilion. The Flaming Lips are known for visually impressive live shows.
  • Former Men At Work frontman Colin Hay begins a three-night run at the Birchmere. Hay has enjoyed a successful solo career after a resurgence almost 10 years ago.
  • Indie-country rockers the Defibulators are scheduled to perform a free concert at Hill Country Barbecue. The Brooklyn-based band has been getting a lot of buzz for its “un- hipster” style.
