D.C. among best cities for healthy baby boomers

Washington is ranked on the top 10 list of best cities for healthy baby boomers.

The list, compiled by the American Physical Therapy Association in Alexandria for HuffPost50, considers health and fitness as measured by a city’s life expectancy, percent with health insurance and availability of health resources like hospitals.

It also factors in lifestyle considerations, like availability of fitness and recreation resources and public transit options.

Washington comes in at No. 7.

San Jose, Calif. ranked No. 1 for fit baby boomers.
