Harpers Ferry MARC station to close for morning departures Oct. 1

WASHINGTON — Commuters who rely on the MARC train from Harper’s Ferry will need to change their plans soon as the train station will close for morning departures.

Beginning Oct. 1, the Harpers Ferry station will not be open for morning train departures, according to MARC.

The closure is due to National Park Service budget cuts and is not related to the federal government shutdown, MARC says.

MARC says it is working with NPS to install a remotely-controlled lock system and updates will be provided soon.
