Adrian Fenty joins Perkins Coie in Silicon Valley

Former D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty has joined Perkins Coie LLP in Silicon Valley.

Fenty will join the law firm’s business development department, where he will work to sign new clients and expand existing relationships for the emerging companies and venture capital practice.

Practice group Chairman Buddy Arnheim called Fenty an “incredibly intuitive business thinker and a savvy strategist” in a statement welcoming him to the firm.

“His experience in the public and private sectors will be invaluable to many of our emerging company clients as they navigate the complexities of growing their business,” Arnheim said.

After losing the 2010 election to Vincent Gray, Fenty took a variety of private sector positions, including one as special counsel at Klores Perry Mitchell PC, a plaintiff’s firm in the District.

More recently, he took a job as a special adviser to California-based venture capital firm Adreessen Horowitz.

Perkins Coie is the former employer of Fenty’s estranged wife, Michelle Fenty. The two separated in 2012 and recently, Adrian Fenty has been romantically linked to Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple Inc. cofounder Steve Jobs.
