Va. woman found with teen ID’d self as boy

POQUOSON, Va. (AP) – The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says a Hampton woman who passed herself off as a teenage boy is accused of seven counts of sexual battery after she was found in woods with a 15-year-old girl.

Media reports say deputies arrested 21-year-old Stephanie Marie Griffith earlier this week while responding to another call. They said they found the girl with Griffith, who claimed to be a 15-year-old boy.

Investigators said Griffith told them the sex with the minor was consensual.

Besides the sexual battery charges, Griffith was charged with one count of crimes against nature and one count of piercing a minor.
