Committee Recommends Raising Salaries Of County Councilmembers — A citizens panel will recommend a 17 percent pay raise for councilmembers, from $106,394 to $125,000 for members who take office after the 2014 elections. The remaining three years of the term could see increases tied to growth in the region’s consumer price index, which could kick up the salaries to $136,258 by 2017. [Washington Post]
