1 dead after house fire in Prince William County

WASHINGTON – One person is dead after a two-alarm house fire in Prince William County Thursday morning.

Responding fire crews searched for occupants and extinguished the fire, but County police say confirmed 65 year old Stephen Frankenberg of Gainesville died during the fire. No other injuries have been reported.

The fire started at a townhouse in the 8400 block of Tackhouse Loop in Gainesville, Va., at about 5 a.m.

The cause of the fire and Frankenberg’s death are both under investigation.
