Burglary at D.C. councilmember’s home

WASHINGTON (AP) – The home of a D.C. councilmember has been burglarized.

Councilmember David Grosso says someone pried open a kitchen window in the back of his Northeast Washington home and stole two computers and a camera.

D.C. police say they’re investigating the break-in, which occurred on Aug. 26. No arrests have been made.

Grosso says the items stolen were worth about $8,500 and that no government information was on the computers. He calls the break-in “the tough part of urban living.”

Grosso is an at-large independent who was first elected to the council last year. He’s lived in his home in the Brookland neighborhood for 14 years.
