Ford announces bacon-wrapped car

WASHINGTON – Add this to the list of ridiculous bacon-themed merchandise.

Ford announced last week that the 2014 Ford Fiesta will be available with bacon.

The little car that Ford says is popular with millenials can come with a package that wraps the car in a vinyl, bacon-themed outer layer.

And you thought bacon wraps were for scallops.

To get the full-out bacon package, drivers will pay $3,347. But anyone worried about calories can go for the far lighter option of mini strips for just $78. There are options in between.

“It’s no secret that bacon inspires a lot of passion, and that’s what the Fiesta celebrates,” said Liz Elser, Ford Fiesta marketing manager, in a news release.

“Our customers have a hunger for self-expression. Plus, it’s just awesome to drive down the road in a piece of bacon.”

Enthusiasts interested in designing their own bacon-wrapped car can check out the options on the Ford website.
