Police: Missing Hyattsville mother and son found

UPDATE: Tuesday – 9/3/2013, 4:55pm ET

WASHINGTON – Hyattsville police say they have located both Dinora Mejia-Guevara and her son Evin.

Both were in good condition, according to police.

Police say they are still investigating their disappearance.

WASHINGTON – Maryland police are searching for a mother and her young son who have been missing since early Tuesday morning.

Hyattsville police say Dinora Mejia-Guevara called a family member at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and said that she felt she was in danger.

Police believe Mejia-Guevara and her son Evin may have been in the area of the Mall at Prince George’s, 3500 East West Highway.

Police say Mejia-Guevara might suffer from a mental illness and Evin could be in danger.

Mejia-Guevara is described as a Hispanic mother from Lancer Place in Hyattsville. She is about 5-foot-4 and weighs 140 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans, tan flip flops and carrying a green purse.

Her son, Evin Jonathan Mejia, is 2 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, tan pants and white shoes. He has a scar on his forehead.

Anyone who has seen the mother and child or who has information about their whereabouts is asked to call Hyattsville police at 301-985-5060.
