Seafood market, cafe will be latest addition to Union Market

The District Fishwife, a seafood market and cafe, will be the newest vendor at Union Market come November, The Washington Post reports.

The owner is Fiona Lewis, a native of Australia, who grew up with Murray cod breeding and growing in fish tanks in her family garage. The District Fishwife will offer prepared meals, like many of the other Union Market vendors. Lewis will likely only sell locally sourced products, like rockfish, blue crabs and oysters. She also wants to push small, oily fish.
