Police investigate after teen’s body found in Fairfax County

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County police are investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl whose body was found in an upscale neighborhood last week.

The girl was found dead Friday morning in the 8200 block of Madrillon Estates Drive in the Vienna area, according to police. The body of the McLean High School 11th-grader — who has been identified in a letter sent to school families as Emylee Lonczak — was found between fences separating two expensive homes, NBC Washington says.

Lonczak’s family contacted officials Wednesday and said she ran away, the station says. A tip reportedly led officials to their search in the area of Madrillon Estates Drive.

A Fairfax County police spokesman tells NBC Washington there are no “outstanding people” or “outstanding items” in the case, and that there is nothing related to the case that would be a threat to others in the neighborhood.

Officials have not released information about what led to Lonczak’s death. A medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of her death.
