Body pulled from Reston lake identified

WASHINGTON – Police have identified a body pulled out of a Reston lake on Friday as a 91-year-old Reston man.

The Fairfax County police say they were called to a property in the 11100 block of South Lakes Drive whose owner had not been seen in some time.

While they searched for him, officers assisted by a police helicopter found a body in Lake Thoreau, next to the South Lakes Village shopping center, police say in a news release.

Police identified the body Monday as Roy Cooley, 91, owner of the South Lakes Drive property.

The cause of death has not been determined, the police say, but they do not suspect foul play.
