‘Epic’ speech welcomes incoming Georgia Tech students

WASHINGTON — Incoming Georgia Tech freshmen got a glimpse of the nerdery to come when they sat down for a student welcome speech that trumped all others.

Tech sophomore Nicholas Selby gave a self-described “badass” speech to the theme music of “2001: A Space Odyssey,” telling students Georgia Tech would allow them to pursue whatever they wished — whether that be designing the Iron Man suit or changing the world.

Mashable reports Selby is studying electrical engineering.
