Illinois agents euthanize deer brought to shelter

WASHINGTON — Animal shelter employers were angered after wildlife agents killed a baby deer that had been dropped off at the shelter in July.

An Illinois family brought the deer to the shelter on the Kenosha-Illinois shelter and a DNR representative said law requires agents to euthanize animals in that situation because of the potential risk for disease for humans, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
