Dupont Circle traffic circle lights to be on flash mode Tuesday

WASHINGTON – Drivers who travel through the Dupont Circle area may want to find an alternate route during the day Tuesday.

The District Department of Transportation is warning that the signals at the Dupont traffic circle will be temporarily placed on flash mode between 10 a.m. and about 3 p.m., while crews upgrade the signal system.

The traffic signals will return to normal before the evening rush hour Tuesday.

Officials expect traffic delays on Connecticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts avenues heading through the traffic circle.

Traffic control officers will help direct traffic through the area.
