Former deputy sheriff pleads guilty to sex with inmate

WASHINGTON – Prince George’s County officials say a former deputy sheriff has admitted having sex with an inmate in the holding cell of a local courthouse.

Lamar McIntyre has pleaded guilty to one count of correctional officer sex with an inmate and one count of misconduct in office.

Officials say McIntyre had consensual sex in a holding cell with a woman waiting to see a judge at a local courthouse in June of 2012.

The woman reported the incident to staff members at the Department of Corrections and McIntyre was charged shortly afterward.

As part of a plea agreement, the state will ask for five years probation, a sexual evaluation and no more than 18 months in prison for McIntyre, who is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
