Sheriff’s deputy indicted in murder

WASHINGTON – An Arlington County sheriff’s deputy has been indicted on one count of murder for the killing of a 22-year-old man in May.

A grand jury in Alexandria handed up the indictment against Deputy Craig Patterson, who is accused of killing Julian Dawkins after an argument on a street corner. Patterson was not on duty at the time.

No trial date has been set.
