Man shot during Germantown home invasion

WASHINGTON – A Montgomery County home invasion left a man with multiple gunshot wounds Monday morning.

The incident occurred at a residence in the 17000 block of Onax Drive in Germantown, Md., at about 1:30 a.m. Police say multiple suspects forced entry into the home.

Once inside, police say there was an altercation which resulted in a man in his 20s being shot several times. There was a group of people inside the residence early Monday morning.

Emergency crews transported the victim to an area hospital where he underwent surgery. Officials have not released information about his current condition.

“The relationship of the person that was shot to this residence is still a matter of investigation,” says Montgomery County Police Capt. Jim Daly.

Daly says police do not yet have any suspect information. Dogs and helicopters searched the rural neighborhood for leads through the morning.

Detectives believe that the suspects and the victim may know each other.

Other adults that were in the house at the time have been interviewed.
