MARC changes begin Monday

WASHINGTON – Monday marks the beginning of what the Maryland Transit Administration is calling minor changes to service on the Penn Line.

Reminder: There will be a minor schedule change on the Penn Line on August 5. Go to to view the new schedule.

The most significant changes, the administration says, are to Trains 536 and 438.

  • Train 536, which leaves Washington at 5:10 p.m., will no longer stop at Halethorpe but will add a stop at West Baltimore.
  • Train 438, which leaves Washington at 5:20 p.m., will no longer stop at West Baltimore but will add a stop at Halethorpe.
  • In addition, Train 427, which currently leaves at 10:30 a.m. from Penn Station, will leave Baltimore and make all stops to Washington five minutes earlier. Also, Train 443, currently the 4:50 p.m. departure from Penn Station, will leave Baltimore and make all stops to Washington three minutes earlier. Both changes are being made to reduce interference with Amtrak trains.

You can see the new timetable here; the administration says printed copies are available at Union Station, New Carrollton, Odenton, BWI Marshall Airport, Penn Station and the four stops north of Baltimore.
