Police seek man in sex assault near Howard campus

WASHINGTON – D.C. Police have released surveillance camera footage of a man who may be connected to a sexual assault near Howard University.

Police say they want to speak with the man because he may have information about the attack. He is described as a slim, black man with a dark complexion who is about 6-foot tall and is between 18 and 20 years old. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt plus black and white shorts, which are possibly swim shorts.

Monday morning, a woman was walking in the 2600 block of 6th Street NW when she was approached from behind by a man who sexually assaulted her.

Anyone who can identify the man in the video is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411.

The police department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in woman’s attack.
