Fairfax Co. man arrested for making bomb threat at courthouse

WASHINGTON – A 72-year-old Alexandria man was arrested for making a bomb threat at the Fairfax County Courthouse Wednesday.

Police responded to the courthouse shortly after 7:30 a.m. for a reported bomb threat.

Officials quickly identified and arrested Joe Edwin Honesty, of the 400 block of Clifford Avenue, who was at the courthouse on an unrelated matter.

He was taken next door to the detention center and charged with making a bomb threat.

He is being held without bond.

Officials say they don’t believe there was an explosive device.
