Robbery, attempted robbery at Maryland Live! casino

WASHINGTON – Police say an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery occurred Sunday morning at the Maryland Live! casino at Arundel Mills.

In the first incident, Anne Arundel County Police say a 71-year-old woman was approached by a man with a knife as she was entering an elevator at the casino. He tried to take her purse, but didn’t get it. He then ran off.

While police were there at about 7:45 a.m., they learned of the second incident. A 35-year-old woman says she was in her car in the parking garage when she was approached by a man who matched the description the first woman gave of the man who tried to rob her. He pointed a knife at her and demanded money, police say. She gave him some, and he ran away.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his 20s who is between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and has a skinny build. He reportedly was wearing eyeglasses and a white baseball hat with an unknown logo on the front, a green T-shirt with an unknown logo on the front, green cargo shorts and dark flip-flops.

Police are asking anyone who has any information about either robbery to call 866- 7LOCKUP or text “MCS” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
