All lanes of Key Bridge reopen after police activity

WASHINGTON – All lanes of the Key Bridge have reopened to traffic after officials closed them in both directions Thursday between D.C. and Virginia,

D.C. police say they received a phone call and that the situation possibly involved a suspicious package. Explosive ordnance personnel were called to the scene.

All lanes were shut down at about 10:40 a.m. Officials reopened the outbound lanes of the bridge at about 11:30 a.m. and then reopened all lanes to traffic at about 11:40 a.m.
