WASHINGTON – A D.C. police officer accused of threatening Michelle Obama has been found not guilty of those charges but faces suspension for postings on social media.

The Washington Post reports that a department review board says Christopher Picciano should be suspended for 40 days without pay for conduct unbecoming an officer.

Detectives reportedly found postings on Picciano’s LinkedIn and Facebook pages that included a communist emblem superimposed over a poster of President Barack Obama and a job description that said Picciano was “zoo keeper of the MPD.”

Picciano faced two internal charges related to the alleged threat against the first lady, which he has said was a joke, the Post reports. He had been a member of the president’s motorcade detail.

Picciano’s attorney says he is weighing an appeal of the suspension ruling.
