Men arrested in connection with Va. robberies on paths

WASHINGTON – Police have charged four people in connection with a June assault and robbery near Pinecrest Road in Reston.

The incident happened on June 7 at around 9 p.m. Police say a 31-year-old man was walking along a path near the Pinecrest Road community center when four young men approached him. They spoke to the man, punched him and took his belongings as he fell, fleeing down the path afterwards.

Three of the four people charged in the incident are juveniles and police have not identified them. Police say the adult who was charged is Ali Lewis, 19, of Reston. Lewis was also charged with robbery on June 21.

Police had believed the incident to be connected to three other assaults and robberies on area paths in Reston, but the four people police arrested have only been charged with the incident on June 7.

Police say they were able to link the four suspects to the incident because they received a tip from the public about it.
