Storm dumps more than a foot of hail on NM town

WASHINGTON – A New Mexico town recently saw a hail of a lot of precipitation.

Residents of Santa Rosa woke this week to find more than a foot of hail, Weather.com reports.

So many of the pellets — some up to the size of a golf ball — fell that the fire department sent out snow plows to clear city streets.

Weather.com says northeast New Mexico sits an area known as “Hail Alley,” which stretches from southeast Wyoming to northeast Colorado and the Texas Panhandle.
