3 teens hurt in fiery crash with tractor-trailer (Video)

LANDOVER, Md. – Three teenagers sustained serious injuries in a fiery crash with a tractor-trailer in Prince George’s County Tuesday night, according to Prince George’s County fire officials.

A sedan carrying three teenagers collided with a tractor-trailer in the 8400 block of Ardwick-Ardmore Road in Landover, Md., before midnight. The crash wedged the sedan under the tractor-trailer and then both vehicles burst into flames, said Mark Brady, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.

The crash seriously injured the teens, but they escaped the sedan before the fire engulfed it, officials said.

Emergency crews transported two teens to a local trauma center and a third to a trauma center in Baltimore. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt in the collision.

The trailer contained products used in the manufacture of mattresses. It took Prince George’s County fire crews 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Officials have not released information about the cause of the crash.

Officials closed Ardwick-Ardmore Road to clean up debris following the fire and crash. The road reopened just before 6:30 a.m.

Brady shot this video from the scene:
