Flash flood watch posted until early Tuesday

WASHINGTON – A flash flood watch is posted for most of the WTOP listening area until 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Monday, with 2- to 3 inches of rain possible, according to the National Weather Service.

A flash flood watch means the conditions exist for flash flooding.

The forecast from ABC7’s Lauryn Ricketts calls for some heavy downpours Monday and Tuesday. Look for more sunshine on Wednesday, but all week the forecast calls for the chance of afternoon showers.
