Manassas police: Man who left threatening notes identified

WASHINGTON – The Manassas police say they’ve found the man who left threatening notes at houses in the city between last December and March.

According to a statement issued by police, they will not charge the 21-year-old man who they say admitted to leaving around 20 notes at Manassas houses.

Earlier this week, according to the statement, the police interviewed the man and his family. According to the police, he has a mental disability, and after the police consulted with the family, prosecutors and mental-health experts, they decided not to file charges.

Some of the targeted houses suffered vandalism, and the police say the man’s family will make restitution.
