Man who fell off Dupont Metro dome listed in stable condition

WASHINGTON – A 21-year-old man is in stable condition after he was found at the base of an escalator at the Dupont Circle Metro station early Tuesday morning.

A Metro spokeswoman says a Metro employee found the man at the bottom of the escalator at the Q Street entrance around 3:30 a.m.

The man fell about 20 feet from the dome to the street level of the entrance before falling an additional 40 feet down the escalator.

Workers say the man, a California resident, was highly intoxicated.
