Washington Kastles Charity Classic

The second annual Washington Kastles Charity Classic will be one of the hottest events of the year, and WTOP is a proud supporter

Many high profile political leaders, including Senators, Congressmen, leaders within the Administration, national media and local celebrities, will join world class pros including Martina Hingis and other members of the Washington Kastles.

This bipartisan group of well-known players will meet on Kastles Stadium Court on July 18 at 7 p.m., to play a fun, fast-paced and fan friendly World Team Tennis-format tennis match, with 100% of ticket sales to benefit charity. This year’s recipients are DC Public Education Fund, Food & Friends and a third charity yet to be announced.

The year’s exciting lineup of players includes some all-star members of Congress: Congressman Tim Bishop (D-NY), Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Congressman Jim Costa (D-CA), Congresswoman Donna Edwards (D-MD), Congressman Mike McIntyre (D-NC) and Congressman Mel Watt (D-NC). They will be joined on the court by NBC News’ David Gregory (Meet the Press moderator), ABC News’ Jonathan Karl (Chief White House Correspondent), Fox News’ Bret Baier (Host of Special Report), Ambassador Dino Djalal (Indonesia) , DC United Head Coach Ben Olsen, and Washington Kastles’ players, including former world #1 Martina Hingis, Leander Paes, Bobby Reynolds and Anastasia Rodionova.
