Test scores low for other subjects in Montgomery Co.

WASHINGTON – Students in Montgomery County are passing their math classes, but failing their finals and the school system is looking for a solution to this alarming problem.

Not only are students failing their math finals, but test scores show a failure rate of 20 percent on a range of subjects including English, history, government and biology – and parents are alarmed.

Dylan Presman, President of the Rockville High School PTSA, is urging the school district to “keep everything on the table as the school system forms summer work groups to tackle the issue.”

Presman also sent an email to school administrators asking them to be more willing to share test data and to increase transparency.
