Capitol Heights Home Depot closed following fire

WASHINGTON – The Home Depot in Capitol Heights is closed Tuesday after a fire broke out in the store.

A spokesman with the Prince George’s County Fire Department says the fire started in the seasonal section around 3:30 p.m.

He says the sprinkler system knocked down most of the fire but fire crews are still working through some heavy smoke. The store will be closed the rest of the day and night.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
