Tadich Grill, San Francisco’s seafood institution, coming to D.C.

Our sister publication San Francisco Business Times reported some restaurant news Monday of interest to D.C. : Tadich Grill, one of the California city’s oldest restaurants, plans to open a location in the District.

Tadich Grill, which has been serving seafood to San Francisco for more than 160 years, will open at 1001 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. I’m guessing this is the former Tenpenh restaurant space at that address, although I’m waiting on confirmation from the retail broker.

The Tenpenh space has been empty since the Pan-Asian restaurant from Passion Food Hospitality LLC closed in June 2011. There is no word yet on when Tadich Grill would open, but I’ll update this post once I have more information.
