WASHINGTON – Police say a 33-year-old man was shot and killed outside an apartment building in northeast Washington.

Police identified the victim Saturday as Irving Jones Jr. of Washington.

Officers were called to the Edgewood Terrace apartments early Saturday morning for the sound of gunshots. They found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
