As proven at NOVA Idol 2013. Contestants had to be enrolled in at least one NOVA course High school NOVA Idol contestants had be enrolled in one of the area high schools. It started out with many auditions on multiple campuses, whittled down to 65 semi finalists and ten finalist who all performed At Norther Virgina Community College, Alexandria on the Schlesinger stage.
