WASHINGTON – While some adults spend years in therapy dealing with a bad childhood, a New York man is taking it a step further by suing his parents.
Bernard Bey, a 32-year-old from Brooklyn, tells NBC 4 New York that he filed the lawsuit because he wasn’t loved enough and that it’s their fault he is homeless and unemployed.
Bey, an aspiring rapper, filed the lawsuit in early February, claiming he was physically and emotionally abused. He says he ran away from home when he was 12 years old.
He is suing for more than $200,000 in damages, as well as asking that his parents “mortgage their family home and purchase two franchises like Domino’s Pizza,” NBC 4 reports.
But ultimately, all Bey wants is to sit down with them at the dinner table. He is willing to drop the lawsuit.
