WASHINGTON – Passengers on board a flight from Pensacola, Fla. to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Friday morning experienced some anxious moments.

One of the engines U.S. Airways Express Flight 2342 died.

To handle what the FAA called it an aircraft alert, emergency crews were in place at the airport.

The plane landed safely shortly after 9 a.m., according to Rob Yingling, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokesperson.

No one was hurt.
