Girl, 4, dies after D.C. house fire

WASHINGTON – D.C. police say a 4-year-old girl has died following a house fire that’s being investigated as a possible arson.

Police say the girl died at a hospital Tuesday. Her name has not been released.

The girl was pulled from the burning home in Southeast Washington on Sunday. Five others were home at the time of the fire but were able to escape.

Police say the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the department’s homicide arson unit.

The home is not far from the residence of District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray.
