WASHINGTON – It must be among the most interesting and unusual summer jobs.
The lucky employees could rub elbows with Bryce Harper and have Nationals fans cheering for them.
What’s the job? The presidency, of course.
The Nationals hold auditions on March 2 for those who want to play the roles of racing presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and the newest, William Howard Taft — better known as George, Tom, Abe, Teddy and Bill.
To qualify, candidates must be 5-foot-7, at least 18 and able to wear the 45-pound costume for several hours.
Potential presidents are required to run 200 yards in 40 seconds.
If chosen, employees will work at least 35 Nats home games and probably make a few promotional appearances around the area.

Candidates will be contacted and will have to answer six mascot-related questions.
