Police identify Southeast fire victims

WASHINGTON (AP) – Metropolitan police have released the identities of two people killed in a fatal fire in Southeast Washington earlier this week.

Police say Glenn Morris Williams, 51, and Diane Toogood, 56, died in Tuesday’s fire, which occurred in a two-story apartment building on the 1700 block of R Street, SE.

The cause is still under investigation, but authorities said the building was blighted and appeared to have been occupied by squatters. Police say neither victim had a fixed address.
