Study: Too much TV may lower sperm count

WASHINGTON – It’s no secret young men like to watch hours and hours of sports on television.

But a new study finds being a couch potato could lower your sperm count.

The Independent reports the study found young men who watched more than 20 hours of TV a week had a sperm count 44 percent lower than those who watched the least amount of television.

Meanwhile, the study found that those who exercised the most had a sperm count 73 percent higher than the least physically active men studied. But men who exercised regularly and also watched a lot of TV saw their sperm count suffer.

The study was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
