5 area companies make Fortune Best Places to Work list

Five Washington-area companies made the 2013 Fortune Magazine list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, a list based on criteria like benefits and perks, employee turnover and workforce growth.

Navy Federal Credit Union was the highest-ranked local company, at No. 56, up from No. 95 last year.

Google Inc. was the top-ranked company on this year’s list.

Local companies on the Best Companies to Work For:

  • No. 56: Navy Federal Credit Union
  • No. 62: Arnold & Porter LLP
  • No. 64: Marriott International Inc.
  • No. 81: Capital One Financial Corp.
  • No. 95: Mars Inc.
