PTA to hold forum on school safety in Montgomery County

How to keep kids safe at Montgomery County schools. That’s the topic of a forum Wednesday night in Montgomery County.

Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger and school security staff are among those expected to speak at the meeting.

“We believe our schools are safe,” says Susan Burkinshaw, co-chair of the Health and Safety committee of the Montgomery County Council of PTA’s. “But we want to make sure that everybody knows what the school system, what the police department and what our elected officials are doing to maintain safety and security in our schools and in our county.”

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Montgomery County Board of Education offices, Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive, in Rockville.
