Driver alert after car lands in C&O Canal

WASHINGTON – A car landed on its side in the C&O Canal Wednesday afternoon, D.C. police say.

The car entered the canal around 33rd and Water streets in Georgetown.

The adult male driver was found conscious and alert. He was taken to the hospital.
