21-year-old charged in Christmas Eve fatal accident

WASHINGTON – A 21-year-old Alexandria man is being charged with involuntary manslaughter for a Christmas Eve accident that took a woman’s life.

Police say Farhan Mohammed Khan ran a red light and hit another vehicle at North Randolf and North Glebe Road.

His car went out of control and killed 30-year-old Shabnam Hotahhar Tehrani of Nokesville, Va. She was on the sidewalk.

If convicted Khan could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

He is being held in the Arlington County jail.
