Wheaton sexual assault suspect arrested

WASHINGTON – A sexual assault suspect was arrested Tuesday evening in Wheaton, Md., Montgomery County Police say.

Trent Elijah Curtis, 22, of Wheaton was charged with 4th degree sexual assault in addition to marijuana paraphernalia.

On Jan. 8 just before 8 p.m., 4th District officers saw a Curtis follow a woman into a neighborhood around Connecticut Avenue and Weller road, followed by a 911 call for a sexual assault in the same area.

The woman said the suspect came from behind and touched her inappropriately before fleeing on foot. Police found the suspect in the same area.

Curtis has been released on bond as is schedule for court Feb. 14.
