Human remains found New Year’s Eve identified

STAFFORD, Va – A body found on New Year’s Eve in Stafford County has been identified as a man missing for more than a year.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s office says the remains found by two teenagers on Warrenton Road behind the GEICO building are those of 45-year-old Timothy Wait.

Wait had been missing from his home in north Stafford since May 10, 2011, when he left after having a fight with his wife.

There’s no immediate cause of death, but the medical examiner’s office says it does not appear to be the result of foul play.
